Green Smoothie Challenge

Would you like to  to eat well, look and feel great, increase your green intake and have others cheering you on while you do it?   To celebrate our 1st Birthday, we're embarking on a healthy challenge with as many community members as possible!  

I was inspired initially to do the Green Smoothie Challenge also known as the green smoothie revolution by Anand Wells from Raw Power and Victoria Boutenko's fantastic book - Green for Life (see references below). 

I am really excited to see so many community members already emailing or signing up on the FB page to take on the revolution.  If you h aven't joined up or begun your revolution, you can always start from Thursday on delivery day with a GSC Box!  There are massive benefits of including more organic greens in your diet due to their ability to rebalance functions of the body by creating an alkaline and friendly internal environment and through this challenge it is very likely that your body will start to crave greens!  What a wonderful craving to have! 

Keep up to date with me on the Miss Organic facebook page which I will update regularly starting on Day 2.   Last year when I took this 14 day challenge, I really came out of it feeling energetic and amazing.  It increased my desire to eat greens and any cravings for something sweet or a caffeine hit definitely subsided too.   It also increased my cravings for raw foods and more vegetables which coincided with my change in other food choices and habits too.  There were many other shifts I started to experience and now I am looking forward to doing it again, cleansing and starting fresh! 

The Green Smoothie Challenge (GSC): It is this easy.... Every day for 14 days (or however long you wish to take it) enjoy a big organic Green Smoothie as one of your meals.  Brekkie is the best choice as it sets you up for a healthy day, but any other time will do too. It takes less than 5 minutes to prepare - healthy fast food!   The rest of your day enjoy meals as you normally would, of course focusing on as much organic whole foods as possible!

Recipe ideas are endless, create your own, check out the resource pages for ideas, look on our facebook page and see what everyone else is blending up enjoy a meal of pure organic nutrition!  It is fun to experiment with this and it takes no time to serve up your brekkie!  My standard recipe is to add one or two varieties of greens to a blender, a touch of berries or a banana, a cup of water, wiz it up and serve.  There could yield more than one glass so you can take the rest for a morning snack at work.  Make sure you vary your choice of greens each day, this is important to obtain maximum nutrition from your smoothies.
