Nourish your Kids

Five top tips to nourish your children:

1. Use organic ingredients to eliminate the chemical load on your child's bodies and prepare meals from scratch so that you know what’s in the food you’re putting on the plate.

2. Keep foods as whole as possible, avoid packaged foods with an ingredient list on the label, focusing on an organic/biodynamic source for optimal health, start healthy habits from a young age, so they are less likely to crave unhealthy, addictive junk foods. We frequently find at expos that the children are more willing to come back for second helpings of our vegetable samples than they would at home, eating conventional produce... when they won't eat their fruit or veggies - try it organic for more flavour!

3. The less processing a food has been through before it arrives on your child’s plate or lunchbox the more nutritious it will be for their healthy, growing bodies.  When you cut out the additives, processed foods and sugars from their diets, you’re very likely to notice enormous change in moods, behaviour, all over wellness and happiness.  Convenience snack bars are usually riddled with sugar, soy, corn syrup, other fillers and additives and are best avoided.

4. Involve your children in the preparation process.  That way they will start to see real food as enjoyable and be more likely to eat what they prepare.  Check out our 3 in 1 spiral slicer, kids love it, and its a great way to have them enjoy zucchini and other veggies.  See recipes for some easy food ideas.

5. Set an example from as early an age as possible by eating the foods you want to see your children eat and set aside meal times away from the TV to connect with your food and your family to start healthy habits while they’re young.
